Our Story...

December 2009:

Tatiana and Josh met accidentally in the book buyback line at BYU-Idaho. Josh figured that since Tatiana's sister was carrying a guitar case it gave him fair game to open a conversation because, hey, he played guitar too. After some careful research of Tatiana's FaceBook page he found that she was in a relationship and Josh decided to leave things be.

April 2012:

Josh was browsing through the FaceBook news feed when he saw a few new uploaded photos of Tatiana. He commented on one: "Whoa Pretty!"-and left it at that seeing as how she was VERY pretty and would probably still be dating someone. To his surprise, he quickly received a message asking, "So why did we never hang out?"  Over the next several months they corresponded via email about music, their lives, and common interests but never got to spend time together seeing as how she was thousands of miles away in Virginia.

December 2012:

Eight months after they had started writing each other, Tatiana traveled to Utah for a wedding. She found an excuse to drive up to Idaho and finally spend some time with Josh, who she happened to find incredibly attractive. He picked her up at her hotel and took her out to experience some real Idaho adventure. They went shooting, off-roading, and ended their first date with frozen custard from Nielsons. They parted realizing that they had "more than friends" feelings for one another.

A few weeks later Tatiana moved back to Rexburg for school, where both Josh and Tatiana found themselves constantly looking for an excuse to spend time with each other. They found each other's sense of humor and a similar taste for adventure addicting.

Needless to say, they have spent every day together since.

The Proposal...

May 21 2013:

Tatiana was sitting on the couch in Joshua's apartment when he briefly stole her away from her homework. He had mentioned earlier that day he wanted to go watch the sunset because it had been a crazy week and they had not spent a lot of time together. As they drove down the road, Joshua pulled out the glass jar Tatiana had made for him on Valentines day full of slips of paper with memories they wanted to remember in the future. He said, "I noticed you were having a stressful week so I wrote a few more memories to add to our jar." He  handed her the jar and she proceeded to read each thoughtful card until they reached their destination; a beautiful field above Rexburg.

They sat down on a blanket to watch the sunset and added a few more cards to their memory jar. When the sun had gone down behind the mountains, they stood up to leave. Josh turned to Tatiana and said, "Oh, I forgot to give you two more cards." He then took two more cards out of his shirt pocket and handed the first one to her. It read, "MAY 15th 2013, the day I asked Tatiana's father for her hand in marriage. He said yes." He recounted the conversation, telling her father he promised to love her forever. He then handed her the second card which read, "May 21st 2013, The day I asked Tatiana to marry me. She said________."

Josh knelt to one knee and presented the ring and asked, "Will you marry me?" She of course said yes, and they lived happily ever after.

-A special thanks to Tyrel Wood who hid in the shrubbery and took these stunning photographs.
